Tommy DeVito, Syracuse football QB commit, named to Elite 11 Final Group

Syracuse football quarterback commit Tommy DeVito was chosen as one of the 12 finalists at the Elite 11 finals, which were held this past weekend in Los Angeles. In doing so, DeVito secured a spot for himself at The Opening Finals, which will be held from July 5-10 at the Nike World Headquarters in Beaverton, Oregon.

The Elite 11 features senior quarterbacks from across the country who go on to compete in various passing drills, from an individual level up to 7-on-7 and team competitions. The QBs are graded on their performance by a group of coaches led by former NFL signal-caller Trent Dilfer. Notable Elite 11 alumni include Andrew Luck, Matthew Stafford and Jameis Winston.

The Opening Finals is a football camp sponsored by Nike that features some of the top players in the country.

DeVito committed to Syracuse in April and he was the first class of 2017 commit for Dino Babers. He’s ranked with three stars and as the No. 77 pro-style quarterback in the class, per 247sports.com.

Dilfer compared DeVito to Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers. Skip to the 19-minute mark in the following video to see DeVito’s performance evaluated by Elite 11 coaches.
