Syracuse men’s soccer 2017 schedule released, will face NCAA tournament teams in 8 of 10 games

Syracuse opens its season with road games against St. Louis on Aug. 25 and SIU Edwardsville on Aug. 27.

Syracuse announced its 2017 regular season schedule on Monday afternoon. The team’s 17-game slate includes eight contests against 2016 NCAA tournament teams.

The Orange finished the 2016 season 12-4-4 (3-2-3 Atlantic Coast). After a program best 9-0-2 start, SU lost to North Carolina, 1-0, in the third round of the NCAA tournament.

Syracuse opens its season with road games against St. Louis on Aug. 25 and Southern Illinois University Edwardsville on Aug. 27. Then, Syracuse hosts the Central New York Classic with games against Princeton and Northwestern on Sept. 1 and Sept. 3, respectively.

ACC play opens for SU on Friday Sept. 8 at Virginia. The Orange finishes conference play against last year’s top two finishers in the conference. First, Syracuse will host Clemson on Oct. 21 before traveling to Wake Forest on Oct. 27.
